DELTA AIR LINES INAUGURATES DIRECT SERVICE TO MUNICH
FROM CINCINNATI ON NOV. 2
CINCINNATI, Nov. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) will inaugurate Cincinnati's first direct service to Munich, Germany, on Saturday, Nov. 2.
Delta's daily service to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport will continue to Munich five days weekly (excluding Wednesdays and Sundays).
Also this week, Delta announced that it will begin new nonstop service on Dec. 15 to Albany, N.Y., and Portland, Maine. The airline will offer two nonstop flights daily to Albany and one daily nonstop to Portland.
Welcoming the new Munich service, the Munich Sister City Committee said it was delighted that after so many years a direct flight will provide an even closer link with Cincinnati's sister city.
"We feel this will be the beginning of a long and prosperous association dealing with both business and culture between our great cities," said David Bitter, a member of the Munich/Cincinnati Sister Cities Association. "We are happy to send a letter of congratulations and friendship from Cincinnati Mayor David Mann, Congressman Charles Luken, Mrs. Augusta Kent - chairperson of the Munich/Cincinnati Sister Cities Program - and Dr. Frederick Hauck - a well-known and respected friend of both the Sister City Committee and Delta Air Lines."
In celebration of the new service, Delta and the Sister Cities Association of Greater Cincinnati will host festivities at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport on Nov. 2 beginning at 1:30 p.m. Highlights will include music provided by the Munich Sister City Committee and a ribbon-cutting ceremony with participation by Delta, the Kenton County Airport Board of Directors and the Munich Sister City Committee.
