DELTA AIR LINES BECOMES THE OFFICIAL AIRLINE
 OF THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE
ATLANTA, April 2, 1992 -- Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE: DAL) and the National Football League today signed a three-year marketing agreement making Delta the new Official Airline of the NFL worldwide.
The new agreement establishes Delta as the official airline of the Super Bowl, the Pro Bowl, American Bowl games in Berlin and London, as well as 11 individual NFL teams. In addition, an expanded relationship with the NFL's World League of American Football will be developed over the next three years.
"This is a significant step for Delta and our marketing effort," said Whit Hawkins, Delta's president and chief operating officer. "There exists a very special relationship between the NFL and people all across America, and we are fortunate to become a part of it.
"The National Football League continues to grow as a highly visible, highly popular entity, both domestically and abroad. And the Super Bowl continues as the world's number one sports event. Given Delta's growing global presence, we're confident this relationship will prove very beneficial for both Delta and the NFL," Hawkins added.
The agreement is a comprehensive package that presents numerous promotional opportunities for Delta and the NFL. For example, the popular program, Inside the NFL, will be shown exclusively on Delta flights.
Already official airline for the Falcons, Dolphins and Rams, the relationship provides Delta with official airline status for the following teams: Cincinnati Bengals, Houston Oilers, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Raiders, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, San Diego Chargers, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
A major world airline, Delta currently operates 2,870 flights each day to 221 cities in 34 countries around the globe.
