 DELTA AIR INAUGURATES SERVICE FROM SOUTH BEND/ELKHART/MISHAWAKA;
 DAILY JET SERVICE TO CINCINNATI
 /ADVANCE/ SOUTH BEND, Ind., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) inaugurated service from Michiana Regional Airport today with three daily nonstop flights to the airline's Cincinnati hub.
 Local dignitaries joined Delta officials for ceremonies commemorating the event.
 "All of us at Delta are delighted to offer this service to the citizens of South Bend, Elkhart and Mishawaka," said Matt Guilfoyle, Delta's director - consumer marketing. "Your region is an important part of Delta's expansion, and we look forward to having a strong presence here at Michiana. We are confident that these new flights will enhance economic opportunities for area shippers and businesses and provide new conveniences to travelers.
 "With the inauguration of this new service, Delta is truly bringing the world to your region," Guilfoyle continued. "Delta's extensive Cincinnati o?peration offers connections for Michiana passengers to points around the globe. Equally as important, our jet service makes your area more accessible to travelers and businesses from hundreds of cities the world over."
 Delta's new service will offer three daily round-trip flights featuring the 98-passenger DC-9 aircraft. Departures and arrivals are scheduled conveniently throughout the day. In Cincinnati, Delta passengers will find easy connections to many of the airline's 164 daily flights serving 62 nonstop destinations.
 In addition to Delta's new service, COMAIR -- the Delta Connection carrier -- will continue to offer flights to Michiana Regional, giving area passengers a greater variety in flight schedules from which to choose.
 A major global airline, Delta serves 220 cities in 34 countries around the world. The carrier's fleet of 544 aircraft operates more than 2,850 flights daily. In addition to the new service from South Bend/Elkhart/ Mishawaka, Delta serves Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne, Ind.
