 DELL OFFERS NEWEST RELEASE OF MICROSOFT WINDOWS
 AUSTIN, Texas, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its long-standing


commitment to provide the most up-to-date versions of standard systems software, Dell Computer Corporation (NASDAQ: DELL) announced today that it is offering Windows 3.1, the latest release of Microsoft's popular graphical user interface. Available immediately, Windows 3.1 adds to a growing list of operating environments and applications that Dell is providing factory-installed on its personal computer systems.
 "We are offering Windows 3.1 pre-loaded and ready to run on Dell systems so that users can easily take advantage of its improvements in performance and ease-of-use," said Joel J. Kocher, senior vice president, U.S. sales and operations.
 Pricing for a factory-installed bundle including MS-Windows 3.1, MS-DOS 5 and a mouse is $149. A similar software bundle including Microsoft's BallPoint mouse is available for $199. User upgrades from Windows 3.0 to Version 3.1 are available through Dell for $45; users can also purchase a Windows 3.1/DOS 5 upgrade package for $89.
