 AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Dell Computer Corporation (NASDAQ: DELL) today announced that four new vice presidents have been appointed to Dell subsidiaries in the areas of information systems and direct sales. The new executives will assist Dell in its ongoing program of building needed infrastructure and systems to support its expanding global business.
 World Class I/S Team
 Richard J. Gardner has been appointed to the new position of vice president, worldwide systems deployment, for Dell USA L.P. Gardner reports to Thomas L. Thomas, Dell's chief information officer. In this position, Gardner is responsible for the overall deployment of new information systems for Dell businesses and departments, with responsibility for all elements from implementation of new technologies to ensuring successful user training. Gardner, 40, was most recently national account manager for Tandem Computers, Inc., where he spent more than six years helping Tandem meet the complex information systems needs of large, multinational customers. Prior to his tenure at Tandem, Gardner was vice president of sales and marketing for Syncrocom, Inc., a manufacturing software and professional services company. He holds a B.S. in Marketing from Indiana University and an M.B.A. from Loyola University.
 Andrew A. Greenawalt has been appointed to the new position of Dell USA L.P. vice president, worldwide computing and network services, also reporting to Thomas. Greenawalt's responsibilities include managing the planning, control and operations of the company's global computing, data processing and voice communication networks. This includes implementing new technologies, supporting internal users and ensuring service levels. Greenawalt, 42, joins Dell from The Continuum Company, Inc., a supplier of software and computing services to the insurance industry, where he served for two years as vice president of processing services. Prior to that he held various I/S and business management positions with Air Products and Chemicals, a multinational supplier of industrial gases and chemicals. He earned a B.S. in Mathematics from Millersville University and a M.S. in Engineering from Lehigh University.
 Susan E. Sheskey has been appointed to the new position of vice president, worldwide development, for Dell USA L.P., also reporting to Thomas. In this position, she is responsible for planning the integration of Dell's information systems with the company's business strategies and with information technology architecture; she also oversees development and control of information systems to serve business processes. Sheskey, 46, comes to Dell with more than 20 years of experience in the telecommunications and information technology fields, and most recently served as senior vice president of technology for Eiben and Associates, Ltd., a management consulting firm. Prior to this position, Sheskey held various senior management positions with Ameritech, one of the nation's largest providers of telecommunications services. She received a B.A. from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
 Added Direct Sales Expertise
 Rosendo G. Parra has been appointed to the position of vice president of Dell Direct Sales L.P., reporting to Joel Kocher, president of worldwide marketing, sales and service operations. Parra, a 15-year computer industry veteran, is responsible for Dell's direct sales to consumers, as well as small and medium-sized businesses. Prior to joining Dell, Parra spent four years at GRID Systems Corporation in several positions of increasing importance. Most recently he served as vice president and general manager of GRID's Direct Business Unit. Parra, 34, earned a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Maryland.
