A FORMER instructor at the Army's Deepcut Barracks appeared in court yesterday accused of raping a 17-year-old male recruit.

Ex-Warrant Officer Leslie Skinner, 45, also faces four counts of indecent assault on the same teenager.

And he was charged with indecent assault on a 21-year-old trainee at the Princess Royal Barracks, Surrey, between 1996 and 1997.

Skinner, of Marton, Lincs, was remanded on bail by Guildford magistrates until his trial date.

His appearance in court follows allegations made to detectives who were investigating the deaths of four young soldiers at Deepcut Barracks.
