DEBIT PHONE CARD'S SIGNATURE SYSTEM

MCLEAN, Va., May 17 /PRNewswire/ -- The newly formed TeleDebit company announces the introduction of a new advertising medium for retail and corporate use. The TeleDebit Signature System offers businesses long-distance communications as a retail, gratuity or promotional item with visual and voice-activated communications to users.
Telephone service is provided by TeleDebit and distributed to consumers through a prepaid debit phone card that can carry an organization's name, logo and unique promotional voice messages recorded for, and spoken to, the organization's cardholders.
The company developed the Signature System concept to help businesses strengthen customer loyalty and personalize communications in local markets. TeleDebit President George C. Pierce said: "The TeleDebit Signature System is new to the American telecommunications industry. It offers businesses an exciting way to personalize communications to customers. In fact, the concept has been embraced by consumers in Europe and Asia that debit phone cards are now the preferred alternative to using coins at public pay phones and are considered collector items."
The service currently offered by TeleDebit is a prepaid debit phone card which operates much the same way as traditional calling cards. In contrast to credit-type calling cards, a prepaid debit phone card is purchased telephone time at a fixed dollar amount. Every time a user makes a call, a dollar value is deducted from the fixed amount on the card, according to the minutes used.
And unlike credit-type calling cards, debit phone cards are transferable and can be given to family and friends as gifts. Also, purchasers and users of debit phone cards are protected from fraud because phone charges cannot accumulate beyond the amount prepaid.
In addition to carrying the organization's identity on the face of the card, TeleDebit's Signature System also provides voice messaging capability. When a cardholder makes a call, two customized voice messages are heard by users before their call is connected. Messages can be placed to complement upcoming promotional programs and targeted to specific population segments. Statistical information is also provided to help businesses evaluate numbers of impressions with each promotional message.
The TeleDebit Signature System also offers a new source of income for businesses. The cards are created with a fixed dollar amount and can be renewed and increased in value at any time by the cardholder. Signature cards are priced so companies can earn revenues from every card sold as well as realized residual income each time users renew or increase the card's value.
In addition, businesses can generate additional income by offering suppliers access to their customer base. Businesses can sell advertising space on the face of their card and/or the voice messaging feature during a period that coincides with the promotion of a particular offering or event.
TeleDebit is an international telecommunications provider offering long-distance calling through a debit card system.
