 DEADLINE FOR FILING ASBESTOS CLAIMS
 CINCINNATI, July 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc.


is notifying all those who may have been exposed to the company's asbestos-containing products of the deadline by which they must file personal injury claims against the company. Owners of buildings containing such products must also file by the same deadline claims for any property damage resulting from such products.
 The deadline for filing claims is Sept. 30, 1992, according to the order issued by the United States Bankruptcy Court presiding over the Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc. Chapter 11 case. Payment for valid claims will be in accordance with a reorganization plan. No reorganization plan has yet been proposed.
 According to the bankruptcy court order, if claims are not filed by the Sept. 30 deadline, claimants will forfeit the right to file a claim and will not receive any payments under any reorganization plan. Eagle-Picher has set up a toll-free number to answer questions and receive requests for "Proof of Claim" forms. The number is 800-231-8804 and is answered 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Eastern time on business days. There is no charge for the telephone call or for filing a claim.
 In addition to Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc., the other Eagle- Picher companies included in this case are: Daisy Parts, Inc., Transicoil, Inc., Michigan Automotive Research, Corp. (MARCO), EDI, Inc., Eagle-Picher Minerals, Inc., Eagle-Picher Europe, Inc., and Hillsdale Tool & Mfg. Co.
 Eagle-Picher Industries, Inc., between 1930 and 1974, sold a line of insulating and finishing cements, coatings and other insulating products, which may have contained some asbestos fiber at various times. A list of such products is available from the company through the toll-free number.
