DCX BILLS U.S. GOVERNMENT $5.3 MILLION
FRANKTOWN, Colo., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- DCX Inc. (NASDAQ: DCXI)

today announced it has sent settlement proposals amounting to $5,313,741 to the Defense Logistics Agency. These two proposals represent the total amount requested of DLA to fairly compensate DCX for costs incurred on the two contracts for electrical distribution systems which were terminated in the summer of 1988. The company successfully appealed the terminations for default before the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals (ASBCA). The board ruled in May of this year that the Government acted improperly and ordered the termination for default converted to termination for the convenience of the Government. The proposals quantify the compensation the company and its consultants, Deloitte & Touche, believe is appropriate under the Federal Acquisition Regulations.
Company sources indicated financial statements contain approximately $3.7 million in related receivables for the terminated contracts. The company expects to record at least $500 thousand of income related to the contracts this year, according to chairman and chief executive officer, John Anderson. However, he further indicated, the total amount of $5.3 million remains subject to final negotiations between DCX and the Government. Anderson also noted that DCX is confidently awaiting a decision from the ASBCA on the third contract for light sets which was heard a year after the two contracts, above.
