DCI Telecommunications makes announcement.

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 31, 1995-- DCI Telecommunications Inc. has announced that effective today, NASDAQ has assigned a new stock symbol, DCIT.

Additionally, DCI today announced the signing of a letter of intent to acquire all the assets of PlastiCards Inc. The transaction will be a stock for asset exchange and the parties expect that a definitive agreement will be signed on or before March 31, 1995.

PlastiCards Inc. manufactures and distributes acrylic convenience cards predominantly in Utah, Idaho, Arizona and Southern California. The Convenience Card which retails for $25 allows a person to get discounts from numerous participating merchants (i.e. McDonald's, Arby's, Boston Chicken, Express Lube). This card virtually eliminates coupons, entitles the holder to buy one item and get one free or get items at discount prices and is good for one year. The card literally could be worth $500-$600. PlastiCards has distributed over 200,000 of such cards and is now in the process of adding a prepaid phone feature to the card, thus making it even more attractive. At present, the majority of sales come through fund raising for educational systems. In addition, these convenience cards are available in such retail chain stores at Circle K and Holiday Oil.

Joseph J. Murphy, president of DCI Telecommunications Inc., expressed excitement about PlastiCards because it compliments DCI, provides an alternate source for manufacturing custom cards, gives DCI immediate access to the various retail chain stores and enables DCI to sell more telephone time quickly.

Wade Weston, vice president of PlastiCards Inc., stated he is happy to be associated with such a creative and aggressive company as DCI. The merger will allow PlastiCards to expand their program nationally.

DCI Telecommunications creates, markets and distributes pre-paid phone cards bearing artistic/photographic images.

DCI also owns Alpha Products, which utilizes the latest in micro-chip technology in its extensive line of motion control, analog to digital converters, relay and telephone control boards. Alpha's customers include Fortune 500 corporations, hundreds of colleges and universities as well as major companies throughout the world.

DCI Telecommunications Inc.'s common stock (which formerly traded under the symbol FCFO) trades under DCIT on the NASDAQ Electronic Bulletin Board.
