DAVIN COMPUTER CORP. RECEIVES PATENT, SUSPENDS OPERATIONS
IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- DAVIN Computer Corp. today announced that it had received another patent on its parallel byte processing technology. The company said that the patent had been anticipated for some time, and involves computer technology that is at the core of the lawsuit DAVIN filed against the IBM Corp. (NYSE: IBM) in November of last year.
At the same time, the company announced that it will suspend development operations until the suit against IBM is resolved.
"We were severely damaged by IBM's actions and are unable to continue even with a development mode of operations," said David H. Methvin, DAVIN's founder and chief executive officer. "The dispute with IBM continues to cause significant damage to our company, but I believe that we will prevail in the matter and be able to resume full operations at the conclusion of the suit. Meanwhile, we will maintain only a small administrative staff," Methvin continued.
DAVIN Computer Corp. was founded in 1985, became a public corporation in 1989 and is traded on the "bulletin board" for small stocks.
