 DAVID W. HOFFMAN ASSUMES PRESIDENCY
 OF AIR & WASTE MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION
 KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 19 /PRNewswire/ -- David W. Hoffman, vice president of Environmental Affairs with PSI Energy, Inc., Plainfield, Ill., will assume the office of president of the Air & Waste Management Association Monday, June 22, during the association's 85th Annual Meeting and Exhibition at the Kansas City Convention Center.
 Dr. Hoffman was elected as first vice president last year by ballot vote of the association's members. He automatically ascends to the presidency this year during the association's business breakfast.
 He was formerly the manager of Environmental Affairs at Minnesota Power in Duluth, Minn. He has served as chairman of the Minnesota/Wisconsin Power Suppliers Air Quality Task Force, chairman of the Mid-Continent Area Power Pool Air Quality Subcommittee and the Electric Power Research Institute's Task Force on the Environment.
 Hoffman is a former member of the association's board of directors and a fellow member of the association. He was technical program chairman for the association's 79th Annual Meeting and Exhibition in Minneapolis. Hoffman has been a speaker and a panelist at numerous professional and technical meetings.
 Hoffman earned his B.S. in biology/natural resources from Ball State University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in environmental health from the University of Minnesota.
 The Air & Waste Management Association is a nonprofit, technical and educational organization with 13,000 members in more than 50 countries. Founded in 1907, the association provides a neutral forum where all sides of an environmental issue receive equal consideration.
