 DAVID L. JORDAN ANNOUNCES FORMATION OF THE JORDAN GROUP, LTD.
 RICHMOND, Va., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The formation of the Jordan Group, Ltd., a venture capital and business consulting firm, was announced today by David L. Jordan, former senior vice president of Media General, Inc. Jordan, who left Media General last month to start his new company, had been engaged in acquisition and related financial activities for the newspaper and broadcasting company for the past 16 years .
 The new firm, with offices at 104 Shockoe Slip, Richmond, will concentrate on strategic planning services, mergers and leveraged buyouts within the Virginia market. The new firm will serve Virginia-based corporate clients as well as institutions and individual investors interested in Virginia businesses.
 Prior to joining Media General, Jordan served as corporate finance director of Xerox; financial consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton; vice president and treasurer of Banc One Corporation, an Ohio bank holding company; and product planning manager for Ford Motor Company's financial staff.
 Jordan, 54, holds a BA from Duke University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is a resident of Richmond.
