DAVID B. MARKS TO HEAD BOSTON ENERGY ASSOCIATES
BOSTON, May 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Boston Energy Associates announced

today that David B. Marks has joined the firm as president. Marks comes to BELA most recently from his position as president of EnerPro, Inc., an Austin, Texas-based energy consulting firm he founded in 1978. Marks brings to BEA an extensive background in the energy industry, having also served for three years as energy advisor to the Governor of Texas and as director of the Governor's Office of Energy Resources, prior to founding EnerPro.
At BEA, Marks will direct the firm's activities on projects for a wide range of clients, both U.S. and foreign, including electric power generators, natural gas distribution companies, natural gas pipelines, and government agencies.
Under the leadership of Marks, BEA will focus on the growing competitiveness of global energy markets. Domestically, this will include assisting gas distribution companies in the transition to a more competitive transportation market, and internationally, the firm will aid in the development of an emerging overseas competitive gas market.
Boston Energy Associates is the consulting and advisory arm of Boston's J. Makowski Associates, Inc., a developer of gas supply and electric power production projects. Although BEA was established in the late 1980s as a distinct company within the Makowski organization and maintains its own core professional staff, BEA is also able to draw upon the experience base of Makowski's electric and gas project development staff to supplement project teams. In addition to his role as president of BEA, Marks will also serve as vice president of J. Makowski Associates.
