DAUGHTER OF MISSING RESTAURATEUR ISSUES STATEMENT

PALM BEACH, Fla., March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Mari Muer, daughter of Detroit restaurateur Chuck Muer and Betty Muer, today issued the following statement.
Good afternoon. I'm Mari Muer. Thank you all for coming. After much deliberation, and with much regret, the Muer and Drummey families have made the difficult decision to scale back the search for our parents.
We will, however, continue with volunteer air and land search. Volunteers to help continue the search for Charley's Crab should contact John Mansure at Air Scan International at 407-264-2911.
At this time, my family and the Drummey family would like to thank the hundreds of people who called and gave of themselves in our search. For those who prayed and those who, watching the seas in hope and became our eyes, we thank you.
The skies were filled with planes and there were fleets from Maine to the Keys, watching and searching.
Our Bahamian neighbors were incredible; from the Bahamian Air-Sea Rescue Association to dock workers, they couldn't do enough, at all levels, to help us in our search. We thank you.
The Coast Guard's efforts, including the Navy and the Air Force -- on land and sea and in the air -- were above reproach. Their assistance in the coordination and detailing of aerial and nautical search was far beyond our expectations and invaluable to our cause. We all thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We appreciate, too, the wonderful work done by the press in spreading word of our search. You were considerate and caring, and indespensible. However, the family members are now exhausted and in need of quiet and rest, so we must take a hiatus from making statements and appearances. We hope you will understand. We will keep you informed via the wire services should any new developments occur.
A number of people have asked how they can help with the cost of the search. Donations may be sent to:

We do have one request. For all those ocean-side residents, we ask that you put a light in your window tonight as the light of hope.
Thank you, from all of us.
