 DATAQUEST RESTRUCTURES, DOWNSIZES, IN
 CUSTOMER-FOCUSED COMPETITIVE STRATEGY
SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Dataquest announced today its worldwide operations will be restructured and downsized to meet the changing needs of the marketplace.
Industry analysts of the international high-tech market research firm will be given expanded responsibility for managing services by industry. Approximately 100 employees will be affected by the downsizing to be implemented as part of the restructuring.
"These decisions were made after an exhaustive study of Dataquest's operations and markets during the past six months," said Dataquest Chairman Robert J. Lievense. "We evaluated each functional area with the goal of matching our customers' needs to our cost base. This evaluation resulted in today's plan for a restructured, right-sized Dataquest."
Lievense stressed, "The basic strengths and direction of the company remain unchanged despite weak industry conditions. Dataquest will continue to be a company with a strong customer focus."
Barbara Scott, director of human resources, said, "We will do everything possible to assist affected employees during this transition. Details of the severance package and outplacement services will be discussed in individual meetings this week."
Employees' severance package includes normal severance for each year of service, outplacement assistance in finding new employment, and extension of medical benefits during the period of severance. The outplacement program will provide assistance through job search workshops, Career Center membership, and individual counseling.
Dataquest is a leading market research and consulting firm that provides services to the high-technology and financial communities. The company provides analysis on the semiconductor, telecommunications, computer systems, peripherals, and service and support sectors of the electronics industry.
