DATALOGIX INTERNATIONAL NAMED AS ONE OF
 FASTEST-GROWING TECHNOLOGY STARTUPS
VALHALLA, N.Y., Dec. 4, 1991 -- Datalogix International, Inc., a leading developer of integrated business software for process manufacturers, was recently named one of the 25 fastest-growing U.S. startups in Business Week's list of "high-tech hotshots."
The list consists of privately-held companies, ranked according to their percentage employment growth during the past year by Corporate Technology Information Services Inc., a Woburn, Mass.-based market research firm. The list was published in Business Week's Dec. 2 issue and in Corp Tech's 1991 Corporate Technology Directory and Database. All the firms were formed during the 1980s, with more than 100 employees and derived at least 75 percent of revenues from the sale of high technology products. Corp Tech estimated that Datalogix had a 60 percent employment growth rate last year, placing it 15th on the list of fastest-growing companies.
"Despite increased competition in the computer industry, as well as a sluggish economy, Datalogix International is in a period of consistent growth," said Kenneth Arnold, chairman and chief executive officer of Datalogix International. "This growth is fueled by the increasing desire of companies in the process industries to be world class manufacturers, and also by the introduction of Datalogix's Global Enterprise Manufacturing Management System (GEMMS)."
GEMMS, announced by Datalogix in November, is the company's next-generation Process Requirements Planning (PRP) management software system that breaks new ground in computer integrated manufacturing by offering support for multiple platforms, languages and currencies and multi-level access to organizational information.
GEMMS provides process manufacturers in the food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries with the ability to share data across multiple server and client platforms -- an important consideration for multi-divisional companies that need to integrate a broad assortment of plant management systems.
Arnold stated, "Inclusion on this list of successful high technology startups affirms our emergence as a market leader and premier developer of business information solutions for process manufacturers. After establishing ourselves in North America, Datalogix is now poised to compete successfully in the $3 billion global process market and anticipates continued growth internationally."
The company's flagship product, CIMPRO, is the leading software solution for process manufacturers. The system is an integrated suite of modules covering process manufacturing, inventory, distribution, financial, laboratory and regulatory compliance applications. CIMPRO is used by manufacturers in the food and beverage, specialty and bulk chemical, pharmaceutical, paint and ink and textile industries.
Established in 1981, Datalogix International, Inc. is a leading supplier of open systems software for process manufacturers, and is established among the major process manufacturing companies worldwide where its products are used across a broad range of business and manufacturing applications. The privately-held company's products are used by more than 370 companies in the process industries.
