DATA SWITCH AWARDED $4.8 MILLION CONTRACT BY HARRIS CORPORATION

 SHELTON, Conn., Nov. 23 ~PRNewswire~ -- Data Switch Corporation (NASDAQ: DASW) today announced receipt of a $4.8 million contract to supply communications switching equipment to Harris Corporation's Air Traffic Control Systems Division over the next three years. The award is part of Harris' 15-year, $1.7 billion project to overhaul the nation's air traffic control system.
 Harris will incorporate the latest Variswitch technology, developed by Data Switch's T-Bar Division, in a system that controls voice communications between aircraft and ground control centers. Variswitch systems will be used in 25 regional air traffic control centers around the country. Initial shipments to Harris will begin in mid-1993.
 In making the announcement, Fred Dietz, executive vice president of technology and general manager of T-Bar said: "We are proud to be a partner in Harris Corporation's major program to modernize and improve the country's air traffic control system. We are looking forward to working with Harris on this project and believe that we can expand our relationship to include other projects in the future."
 Data Switch is a leading manufacturer of products for data processing and communications applications. Product lines include switching systems, channel extenders, ESCON migration products, and performance monitoring and control systems. The T-Bar Division develops and markets a variety of switching systems and components for both fiber-optic and traditional copper-based networks.
