DATA RACE ANNOUNCES SUPPORT OF MICROSOFT AT WORK ARCHITECTURE

 NEW YORK, June 9 /PRNewswire/ -- DATA RACE (NASDAQ: RACE) announced today its support for the Microsoft At Work(TM) architecture, which is designed to enhance mobile and desktop communications Microsoft(R) Windows(TM) operating system.

"We're pleased to join forces with Microsoft to bring our line of data/FAX modems to the Windows platform."
 DATA RACE's recent introduction of its RediMODEM and RediCARD will enable users to have access to all Microsoft At Work capabilities. All DATA RACE RediMODEMs AND RediCARDs are Class 1, EIA-578 FAX software compatible, Group III send/receive compliant, and include the powerful BitFAX for Windows. DATA RACE's RediMODEMs and RediCARDs are key tools in maintaining communications in either mobile or office environments.
 Colwell added that DATA RACE, which pioneered the adoption of Class 1 EIA-578 FAX standard, also serves on the TR29 committee working on a new Class 4 FAX Standard. Bob Boykin, a developer at DATA RACE serves as vice chairman of TIA/TR29.2 and as editor of PN 3130 (known as Class 4 FAX), which will be the next step in computer FAX. According to Colwell, Class 4 will provide the flexibility of Class 1, but will require less frequent attention from the PC, making it particularly well suited to multi-tasking environments such as the Windows operating system.
