DATA BROADCASTING CORPORATION NAMES BLOCH TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

 NEW YORK, Feb. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Data Broadcasting Corporation (NASDAQ: DBCC) today announced that Richard L. Bloch has been named to the board of directors of the corporation.
 Alan J. Hirshfield and Allan R. Tessler, DBC's co-chief executives, said, "We welcome Richard Bloch to our board of directors. His experience and acumen are well known in the business community, and we believe that his participation on our board will significantly benefit DBC."
 Bloch is presently president of Pinon Farm, a horse training and breeding farm, based in Sante Fe, N.M. He is also a director of the City National Bank of Beverly Hills, Calif., and director of Cantel Industries, a diversified industrial company. He is the former chairman of the board and CEO of Filmways, Inc. He also served as the president of the Phoenix Suns Basketball Club, and the chairman of the board of governors of the National Basketball Association.
 Bloch serves as a director of the American Grand Prix Association, the United States Equestrian Team and is a trustee of St. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe.
