DARRYL ALLEN ANNOUNCES NEW CONTRACT

MAUMEE, Ohio, April 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Darryl F. Allen, chairman, president and chief executive officer of TRINOVA (NYSE: TNV), announced at today's annual meeting three new contract awards with a value of nearly $17 million for its Aeroquip and Vickers operating companies.
Vickers Aerospace was awarded a contract valued at approximately $3 million by the U.S. Army Aviation and Troop Command to supply Oil Debris Detection Systems (ODDS) for retrofitting AH-1 Cobra and UH-1 Huey helicopters. The ODDS kits will reduce scheduled maintenance costs and extend the service life of the aircraft being equipped. The system will also help reduce mission aborts, increase pilot safety, and improve aircraft reliability. The ODDS kit incorporates products from both Vickers Aerospace and Aeroquip Aerospace.
Aeroquip Automotive has been awarded a contract by Adam Opel AG, Ruesselsheim, Germany, to supply air conditioning assemblies for the Opel Vectra for the 1994 model year. The value of the sole-source contract is DM 14 million (approximately $8.75 million).
Vickers Industrial has been awarded a contract by Golden Pacific Aluminium Company, Golden, Colo., to supply all the hydraulics for a proposed new aluminum rolling mill to be constructed in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. The contract with Golden Pacific Aluminium, a joint venture of Golden Aluminum and Aluvic, is Vickers' first sole- source contract in the primary metals market and has an estimated value of $5 million. Sourcing will be global with Vickers supplying products from the U.S. and Europe, as well as from its operations in Australia, and will also incorporate Aeroquip Industrial products.
Also at the meeting, shareholders re-elected the incumbent slate of directors to the Board and approved the appointment of Ernst & Young as TRINOVA's independent auditors.
