 DANTON RISSNER APPOINTED EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, EUROPEAN
 PRODUCTION, FOR THE MOTION PICTURE GROUP OF PARAMOUNT PICTURES
 HOLLYWOOD, Feb. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Danton Rissner has been appointed executive vice president, European production, for the Motion Picture Group of Paramount Pictures, it was announced today.
 Rissner, based in London and reporting directly to John Goldwyn, president of Paramount's Motion Picture Group/Production, is responsible for initiating and creating feature projects to be produced in Europe as well as overseeing all production aspects for Paramount films produced in Europe that were originated in Hollywood.
 "Dan Rissner is a man of profound experience at the international level," said Goldwyn. "His association with some of the more prominent films of our time and his relationships with their highly respected creators make him invaluable as we expand our worldwide focus."
 Rissner takes over the day-to-day operation of Paramount's European production office, established in London in January 1990.
 Rissner most recently served as executive producer for Paramount's upcoming release "School Ties," a Stanley R. Jaffe/Sherry Lansing production directed by Bob Mandel. In addition, he recently produced "A Summer Story" for ITC Productions, a Piers Haggard film starring James Wilby and Keith Carradine.
 Previously, he was a vice president of production for MGM/UA, where he was responsible for "The Year of the Dragon," among others, and also an executive vice president of production for 20th Century Fox, where he was responsible for films including "Unfaithfully Yours" and "Ladyhawke."
 Before that, Rissner held a number of positions with United Artists, beginning as vice president in charge of European production, and culminating with the responsibility for worldwide feature production. While with United Artists, he was involved with "The Dogs of War" (John Irvin), "Who'll Stop the Rain" (Karel Reisz), "The Confession" and "Special Section" (both by Costa Gavras), "The Decameron" and "The Canterbury Tales" (both by Pasolini), "La Cage Aux Folles," "Yanks" (John Schlesinger), "Equus" (Sidney Lumet), "Hair" (Milos Forman), "The Return of the Pink Panther" and "The Revenge of the Pink Panther" (both by Blake Edwards), "The Spy Who Loved Me," "The Night Porter," "Rollerball" (Norman Jewison) and "Roma" (Federico Fellini), among others.
 Prior to that, Rissner served as vice president, European production, for Warner Bros., based in London. While there, he was associated with "A Clockwork Orange" (Stanley Kubrick), "The Devils" (Ken Russell) and "Death in Venice" (Luchino Visconti).
 Rissner spent two years prior to that as head of the motion picture literary department of the Ashley Famous Agency, and he accompanied Ted Ashley to Warner Bros. when he and Steve Ross took over that studio in 1969.
 Rissner began his career as a telethon producer for United Cerebral Palsy.
