DAMES & MOORE SIGNS CONTRACT WITH U.S. AIR FORCE FOR ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AT REMOTE SITES IN ALASKA

 LOS ANGELES, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Dames & Moore (NYSE: DM), international engineering and environmental consultants, has signed a contract with the U.S. Air Force for environmental assessment, remedial design and construction monitoring services for remote sites in Alaska. The contract could yield as much as $20 million annually during a five- year period.
 The company will assess conditions at old military sites, many dating back to World War II. The sites include two air stations, Galena and King Salmon; Defense Early Warning (DEW) Line sites; and communications facilities across the state.
 Dames & Moore is a worldwide professional services company, providing comprehensive environmental and specialized consulting and engineering services. The company had gross revenues of $343.8 million in fiscal year 1993 and maintains offices throughout the United States and in 19 other countries.
