DAMES & MOORE RECEIVES $20 MILLION CONTRACT FROM CORPS OF ENGINEERS

 LOS ANGELES, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Dames & Moore (NYSE: DM), international engineering and environmental consultants, has signed an indefinite delivery-type contract with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, to perform hazardous, toxic, and radiological waste services nationwide. The one-year contract with two option years is expected to yield $20 million for the company.
 One of Dames & Moore's first assignments is a cultural resources survey of the small arms range at Nellis Air Force Base near Las Vegas. The assignment, which is expected to be completed by January 1994, will require Dames & Moore specialists to survey 10,500 acres of the range for evidence of historic and archaeologic resources. In another assignment, Dames & Moore will install and monitor ground-water wells in the vicinity of a sewage treatment plant and evaporation/percolation pond at the base.
 Dames & Moore is a worldwide professional services company, providing comprehensive environmental and specialized consulting and engineering services. The company had gross revenues of $343.8 million in fiscal year 1993 and maintains offices throughout the United States and in nineteen other countries.
