DAMES & MOORE NAMES KEVIN J. FREEMANMANAGER OF ITS WESTERN NORTH AMERICA DIVISION

 LOS ANGELES, Aug. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Dames & Moore (NYSE: DM), international environmental and engineering consultants, has named Kevin J. Freeman, 43, a senior vice president of the company and manager of its Western North America Division, effective Aug. 9, 1993. He will succeed Arthur C. Darrow, who was recently named president and chief operating officer of the company, and who will succeed George D. Leal as chief executive officer of the company at the end of 1994.
 Freeman, who is also a nominee for Dames & Moore's board of directors, is currently based in the company's Seattle office, and will be relocating to California during the initial stages of his new assignment. He was named a vice president of the company in 1991, and has served as general manager of the Northwest Region of Dames & Moore's Western North America Division since 1990, as well as general manager of the division's Department of Energy Group since 1992. Prior to 1990, he managed the division's Northwest Geosciences Group. Freeman joined the company in 1987. He has 21 years' experience in the engineering geology field.
 Freeman earned a bachelor's and master's degree in geology from Michigan State University. He is a registered geologist and certified engineering geologist in Oregon, and has authored numerous technical papers on various geologic subjects.
 Dames & Moore is a worldwide professional services company, providing comprehensive environmental and specialized consulting and engineering services. The company had gross revenues of $343.8 million in fiscal year 1993, and maintains offices throughout the United States and in 19 other countries.
