DAMES & MOORE AWARDED $3.3 MILLION CONTRACT FOR SUPERFUND SITE IN MISSOURI

 LOS ANGELES, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Dames & Moore (NYSE: DM), engineering and environmental consultants, has been awarded a $3.3 million contract for a remedial investigation/feasibility study (RI/FS) of former mining properties in Jasper County, Mo. The work is being performed over a three-year period for a group of private companies that have signed a consent order with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for performance of the RI/FS.
 Dames & Moore is assessing residual mined materials and soils, surface water, ground water, air and biological conditions at the site, for the remedial investigation. The 35-square-mile Superfund site consists of seven separate designated areas and was originally part of the Tri-State Mining District of Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma. Lead and zinc mines operated on the site for nearly a century, beginning in the 1850s.
