DAMES & MOORE ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT SUCCESSION PLAN

 LOS ANGELES, July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of Dames & Moore (NYSE: DM), international engineering and environmental consultants, announced a management succession plan that will be implemented over the next 17 months.
 Arthur C. Darrow, 49, currently senior vice president-Western North America Division, was named president and chief operating officer effective Aug. 9, 1993.
 George D. Leal, 59, currently chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer, will continue in that position through the end of 1994. At that time, Darrow will succeed to the position of chief executive officer with Leal remaining as chairman of the board of directors.
 Darrow has been employed by the company for 19 years. He has served in division and general management positions since 1983.
 Henry Klehn Jr., 56, currently executive vice president and chief operating officer, has been named to the new position of executive vice president-corporate development.
 Dames & Moore is a worldwide professional services company, providing comprehensive environmental and specialized consulting and engineering services. The company had gross revenues of $343.8 million in fiscal year 1993 and maintains offices throughout the United States and in 19 other countries.
