DAILY NEWS PRESENTS THE NEW YORK POPS 10TH BIRTHDAY GALA

 NEW YORK, May 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The New York Pops, under maestro Skitch Henderson's baton, will celebrate its 10th Anniversary at a Gala Concert presented by the Daily News in Carnegie Hall on May 17, 1993. The celebration will be emceed by 60 minutes host Mike Wallace. Delores Hope (Bob's wife), who worked with Skitch nearly 50 years ago will headline.
 Daily News award-winning sports columnist Mike Lupica will be introducing the evening's guest conductor and New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner. Fred Drasner, CEO & co-publisher of the Daily News, will present Skitch with its highest honor, the Daily News Front Page Award.
 Other celebrities performing are: Eyewitness News Anchor Bill Beutel; Maurice Hines; Roger Williams; Richard Hayman; and many more!
 Skitch Henderson's long and illustrious career has taken him around the world to conduct and play with virtually every major orchestra and performing artist. In 1983, Skitch brought 90 of the finest musicians together for the start of the New York Pops, now a national institution.
 Immediately following the gala concert will be the gala dinner-dance at the Plaza Hotel.
