DADC PRESSES 30 MILLIONTH CD-ROM

 TERRE HAUTE, Ind., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Digital Audio Disc Corporation (DADC), a subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America, (NYSE: SNE) announced today the pressing of its 30 millionth CD-ROM here in July 1993.
 July also marked the first time DADC pressed three million discs in a single month.
 "We are staying well ahead of demand through substantial investments in CD-ROM manufacturing and packaging facilities, and by maintaining a strong project-management/solutions orientation to our customers' requirements," said Bob Hurley, vice president, CD-ROM sales and marketing at DADC.
 "CD-ROM is a critical enabling technology," he said. "It allows time-sensitive information, application software -- even video games and multimedia 'edutainment and infotainment' applications -- to be delivered in the most cost effective and timely manner available today," he added.
 DADC is the largest and most advanced optical disc manufacturing facility in the world, with a production capacity of more than 15 million discs per month in its two Terre Haute facilities. DADC's CD- ROM production capabilities include mastering, replication, creative services, packaging consulting and sourcing, fulfillment and client distribution.
 DADC is a subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America, and receives sales, marketing and technical support through Sony's Recorded Media division, with regional offices in Santa Clara, Calif., Terre Haute, Ind., Columbia, Md. and Nashua, N.H.
