DAD 13, MUM 14; Baby on the way for teen school friends.
A BOY aged 13 is to become a dad after getting a 14-year-old school friend pregnant.
The mum-to-be, whose baby is due in about two months, is in the year above the lad at their secondary school.
Both live in Poole, Dorset, where the council has won a court order banning their names being made public. Councillor Brian Clements, former leader of the authority, said: "It is sad when a very young person is pregnant because it narrows their life opportunities. Let's hope it all turns out OK for them."
Jenny Teague, also from Poole, became the country's youngest mother at 12 when she gave birth to her daughter Sasha in 1997. Britain's youngest father is Sean Stewart, who became a dad at 12 when his 15-year-old next-door neighbour Emma Webster gave birth in 1998.
The youngsters, from Sharnbrook, Beds, had decided to go ahead with the pregnancy because they had their parents' support.
Charlene Way, 15, and her sister Miranda, 17, of Poole, both got pregnant in 1999 and gave birth just months apart.
