DAB Importers launches non-alcohol brew

The Dortmunder Actien Brauerei (DAB) recently announced the arrival of Stades non-alcoholic brew in the United States this month. Test markets for the brand will include Baltimore, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Ft. Lauderdale/ Palm Beach, and New Jersey.

According to the brewer, a special brewing process guarantees shelf-life for 18 months. A gentle, vacuum-based process removes the alcohol from the product, as well as some of its caloric content, the company added.

"New product technology gives Stades a subtle, dry taste usually found in premium beers brewed in the Pilsner tradition and not easily accomplished in non-alcohol brews," said Frederick Hess III, director of product development, DAB Importers.

DAB intends to target Stades at "the health-conscious who like the taste of beer, but who don't want the alcohol, those who cannot drink for medical reasons including pregnancy, designated drivers, and bartenders and other bar personnel."

Stades will be available in 31 states by July, Hess added, while delivery to those states with bottle/ can deposits will begin in four to five months. All told, Stades will be release in 80 countries worldwide.
