D.R. HORTON, INC. REPORTS RECORD NEW SALES ORDERS AND BACKLOG FOR THE FIRST QUARTER

 ARLINGTON, Texas, April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- D.R. Horton, Inc., (NASDAQ: DRHI) reported net sales contracts during the first quarter, ended March 31, 1993 were up 38 percent over the same period of 1992 and were the highest quarterly sales in the company's history. During the period, net sales contracts signed were $81.3 million (525 homes) compared to $58.9 million (440 homes) for 1992.
 The company's total sales backlog of homes under contract at March 31, 1993, increased 43 percent and was $101.7 million (598 homes), another record high for the company. This compared to sales backlog of $71.2 million (498 homes) at March 31, 1992.
