D&N ANNOUNCES COOPERS & LYBRAND AS INDEPENDENT AUDITORS

 HANCOCK, Mich., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- D&N Financial Corp. (NASDAQ-NMS: DNFC) today announced its intention to appoint the firm of Coopers & Lybrand, Certified Public Accountants, as auditors for the corporation's fiscal year ending Dec. 31, 1993. Coopers & Lybrand brings extensive experience and expertise in the financial services industry to the D&N engagement.
 Coopers & Lybrand will replace the firm of Ernst & Young, who have served as D&N's independent auditors for several years and who continue to serve as expert accountants for D&N's recently announced rights offering. There are no substantive disagreements regarding any accounting principles, practices, audit procedures or financial statement disclosures between the corporation and Ernst & Young.
