D&B unveils CD version of Regional Business Directory.

Dun & Bradstreet Information Services (D&B) has released a new CD-ROM that provides immediate access to sales and marketing information on the most prominent public and private companies in the U.S. The D&B Regional Business Directory Disc is an electronic version of D&B's popular Regional Business Directory. The CD-ROM gives users unlimited access to 20,000 of the largest business in a region, with up to 10 executive names and titles per company. The disc offers 54 regions in the U.S. from which users can choose.

"The Regional Business Directory Disc lets business professionals quickly and easily target and research potential customers and business partners right from their desktop," said Joan S. Rothman, senior vice president of marketing at D&B. "The CD's ease-of-use and powerful information can save companies time and money's."

D&B's Regional Business Directory Disc provides hard-to-find information, especially on private companies. This information can help identify key prospects and decision makers, locate employment opportunities, conduct preliminary planning and market research, identify local subsidiaries and divisions of national corporations, and contact key executives.

The information on the CR-ROM includes company name, address, telephone number, D&B D-U-N-S number, eight-digit SIC code, year started, actual or estimated sales (not sales range), number of employees at the location listed and company-wide (not employee range), up to 10 executive names and titles, public/private indicator, subsidiary/ branch indicator, and parent company. Users can search and sort the information by type of business, company name, geography, and many other criteria. An easy-to-use design feature allows users to create custom or standard reports and export data to other software.

The disc is updated twice a year and is also available in a hardcover edition. The CD's price starts at $595 per region, with discounts available for additional regions.
