Czech president Zeman pays official visit to Macedonia.
On 9 and 10 June, the President of the Republic of Macedonia, Gjorge Ivanov, hosted his Czech counterpart, President Milos Zeman, during his 2-day official visit to the Republic of Macedonia. The visit started with a tete-a-tete meeting of the two presidents, followed by a plenary meeting of the official delegations.
Macedonian President Ivanov decorated President Zeman with the 8 September Order for his meritorious achievements in promoting and enhancing friendly relations and peaceful cooperation on an equal footing between the Republic of Macedonia and the Czech Republic, and in strengthening the international standing and reputation of the Republic of Macedonia.
A Macedonian-Czech Business Forum was also held, at which the two presidents delivered welcoming remarks, stressing the need for the business communities to follow the traditionally good relations between the two countries. Representatives of the chambers of commerce of the two countries, as well as Czech and Macedonian businessmen attending the forum exchanged opinions on the cooperation in a number of areas including energy, tourism, banking, food, and the automotive and chemical industries.
The two presidents also paid a visit to the monastery complex of St. Naum in Ohrid.
