Czech out new Miss World Tatana.

A TEENAGE Czech schoolgirl was crowned Miss World 2006 last night... and promptly burst into tears.

Blonde Tatana Kucharova, 18, from Opocno, composed herself long enough to blow kisses to the 2500-strong audience in Warsaw.

She defeated 103 beauties from all over the world to pip Miss Romania, 17-year-old Joana Valentina Boitor to the title.

Australia's Sabrina Houssami, 20, was third.

Wearing a stunning white evening dress, tearful Tatana received her glittering crown from Miss World 2005, Unnur Birna Vilhjalmsdottir of Iceland.

Keen tennis player Tatana had told the judges she planned to attend university and then become a model.

Her personal motto is: "Always be an optimist."

Scotland's representative 22- year-old Nicola McLean, of Ellon, Aberdeenshire, made it to the semi-final stage.

Members of the public had their say in the contest with thousands all over the world casting their votes over the internet and by text.
