Czech Republic : Construction of the next section of the D3 motorway began, passing as a bypass of Ceske Budejovice.

Transport Minister Dan ?ok began construction of another section of the D3 motorway in the Hod?jovice - T?ebonn section. At the same time, the motorway section, which is almost 13 kilometers long, will also serve as a bypass of ?esk Bud?jovice, which will transfer transit traffic outside the South Bohemian capital, thus significantly relieving local residents. The construction of the D3 Hod?jovice - T?ebonn motorway is the fourth construction of this year's construction season.

I see the commencement of the construction of another section of the D3 motorway as a very important step for the whole of South Bohemia. It will serve not only the bypass of ?esk Bud?jovice, which are now overloaded by traffic, but will also provide a more comfortable and faster connection with neighboring Austria and, last but not least, contribute to the development of the region, says Transport Minister Dan ?ok.

Altogether, the twenty-kilometer bypass of ?esk Bud?jovice is divided into two construction sections, namely the now open construction of the section D3 0310 / II Hod?jovice-T?ebonn in the length of 12.6 kilometers and the section 3 0310 / I siln-Hod?jovice in the length of 7.2 kilometers. The construction of the Hod?jovice - T?ebonn section will also include the construction of 17 bridges and three flyover junctions.

Furthermore, section D3 0309 / I Boilec-ev?tn is being built on the D3 motorway, which is 8.1 kilometers long and will be fully open this July, and a section of 10.7 kilometers D3 0309 / II ev?tn-Borek . The D3 motorway is now the most developed motorway in the country, with nearly 40 kilometers of new motorway being built.

After its completion, the D3 motorway will serve as the main traffic artery between Prague and the South Bohemian Region, linked to the motorway network in neighboring Austria. After its completion, the D3 motorway, which will run in the route Prague - ?esk Bud?jovice - Austria, should measure 170 kilometers. The entire length of the D3 will be part of the European E55, which runs from Scandinavia through our territory to Greece.

Together with the Hod?jovice - T?ebonn section, 225 kilometers of motorways and 1st class roads are currently under construction, 133 kilometers of motorways, 31 kilometers of D1 upgrades and 61.6 kilometers of 1st class roads are being built on greenfield sites. The current construction overview can be found in the RMD interactive map.
