Cyprus : The House President departs to Moscow.

The President of the House of Representatives, Mr Yiannakis L. Omirou, and an all-party delegation travelled to Moscow today for a two-day official visit in the Russian Federation, following an invitation by the President of the State Duma, Mr Sergey Naryshkin.

The delegation consists of the MPs, Messrs Lefteris Christoforou, Deputy President of the Democratic Rally, Nicos Katsourides, MP of the leftist Party AKEL, Neofytos Constantinou, MP of the Democratic Party, Yiorgos Varnava, Vice-President of the Social-Democratic Party EDEK, Demetris Syllouris, President of the European Party and Yiorgos Perdikis, General Secretary of the Cyprus Green Party.

During their stay in Moscow the House President and the all-party delegation will have a meeting with the President of the State Duma, which will also be attended by the President of the Russia-Cyprus Friendship Group of the Duma, Mr Adnan Muzykaev. They will also have meetings with the President of the Russian Federation Council (Upper House), Ms Valentina Matvienko and the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Titov.

The First Vice-President of the State Duma, Mr Ivan Melnikov, will host an official luncheon in honour of Mr Omirou and the delegation. The House President and the delegation will return to Cyprus on Friday, 5 July 2013.
