Cypress's WirelessUSB(TM) LP Radio System-on-Chip Earns Over 175 Design Wins in Less Than a Year.

Two Million Units of Robust, Low-Power 2.4-GHz Solution Shipped To Manufacturers of Wireless HIDs and Other Devices

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) today announced that in less than one year of production its WirelessUSB[TM] LP radio system-on-chip has secured over 175 design wins. Products using the device include wireless Human Interface Devices (HIDs) such as mice, keyboards, presenter tools, remote controls and gaming controllers, as well as Voice over IP headsets, toys, medical appliances, and wireless embedded controls. In the same time frame, WirelessUSB LP shipped over two million units.

WirelessUSB LP (CYRF6936) is a highly integrated 2.4-GHz radio transceiver plus digital baseband that utilizes advanced power-optimization techniques to extend battery life to greater than one year in HIDs and other wireless applications. The device features Cypress's AgileHID[TM] protocol with patented frequency agile Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) technology for best-in-class interference immunity, enabling a superior user experience in the crowded 2.4-GHz spectrum.
