SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) today announced that its PRoC[TM] LP programmable radio-on-a-chip received the 2006 Editor's Choice Technology Innovation Award for Analog/Mixed-Signal ICs from Electronic Engineering & Product World (EEPW), one of the leading electronics magazines in China.

EEPW's editorial committee and copy desk, together with technical experts in the industry, identified winning products through careful selection and votes by readers of the EEPW website. The award marks the second time EEPW has recognized a Cypress PRoC device; the original PRoC was honored with a 2005 award.

The low-power PRoC LP integrates Cypress's robust WirelessUSB[TM] LP 2.4-GHz transceiver and the award-winning enCoRe[TM] II 8-bit reprogrammable Flash microcontroller (MCU). PRoC LP simplifies coding and board layout to cut design time and reduce board space requirements, thus enabling innovative and sleek designs for wireless Human Interface Devices (HIDs) such as mice, presenter tools and RF remote controls.
