Cylink to introduce WAP e-business systems with end-to-end security.
TELECOMWORLDWIRE-29 May 2000-Cylink to introduce WAP e-business systems with end-to-end security (C)1994-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com
E-business systems provider Cylink Corp plans to launch a series of new products that will provide increased security for data transmission made over wireless mobile devices employing WAP technology.
Cylink's new systems will be designed to ensure end-to-end security from the wireless device to the final destination - the web server - to eliminate the ability of malicious operators to intercept, tamper with or redirect the data and compromise such information as the end user's phone number and account data.
The first new offering will be commercially available in September. Features will include encryption above the WTLS protocol level at the application layer to make the system 'wireless provider independent' and an ability for either the telco or the bank/e-commerce provider to locate and administer the WAP server to avoid security risks.
