Cyclists should use lane to stay safe; FEEDBACK.

AS a driver in public service who often will use the 94 bus route to Barry via Penarth to Sully and then on to Ty Verlon, I feel I must complain about the conduct of some other road users.

This thoroughfare is a fast and narrow road and although there is a dedicated cycle lane on one side of the road that alternates for the cyclists' safety, many steadfastly refuse to use it and use the main road and this can be a hazard.

It seems to me that it is the owners of race cycles that do this and if a cyclist were being followed by a vehicle and fell off there could be little margin for error.

Maybe a law should be passed in the Highway Code that stipulates that on a busy road that could be a danger to cyclists and a cycle lane was provided off the road they would be compelled by law to use it and any cyclist not doing so could be prosecuted by the police.
