CyTA asks for more advertising money.

THE CYPRUS Telecommunications Authority's mobile telephone network is in the worst situation it has been in years due to the countless court appeals by municipalities to have phone masts removed.

For this reasons, according to a CyTA spokesman yesterday, the House Finance Committee was yesterday asked to approve a e1/43 million supplementary budget for the semi-governmental organisation to cover advertising costs.

Of this amount, e1/41,350,000 will be used to promote Authority's new company ID, which will from now on be called CYTA in Greek (instead of ATHK) as well as English.

Committee Chairman Antigoni Papadopoulou of DIKO said the extra budget was considered justified and beneficial to the Cyprus public.
