There are calls to develop home-grown curry chefs to try and secure the future for the British industry.

Figures show that there are not enough chefs and training staff to meet demand.

One of the ideas being mooted is to build a so-called 'Curry College' which would go some way to securing the industry in the future.

At the British Curry Awards in London, event organiser Enam Ali MBE said: "It is a huge problem. And with an Olympics just around the corner, the whole hospitality industry needs to be ready to host visitors in true British style."
