Current carrying capacity tool debuted.

LITTLETON, CO -- Thermal Man Inc. (, a supplier of software design tools, has debuted a series of conductor sizing charts for complex thermal calculations.

The new tool consists of a series of 17 curves for determining current carrying capacity of circuit boards. The curves are based on new IPC standards for current carrying capacity and replace the curves established in 1956. The new curves were the subject of a May 2003 article in PCD&M.

According to founder Mike Jouppi, the tool has been validated by a U.S. Air Force research lab.
