Cup heroine tops boutique sale at $2.3m.

ELSEWHERE at Fasig-Tipton, the Breeders' Cup proved a shop window for the boutique one-session sale, with horses who had won at the meeting fetching top-dollar prices in the ring.

Awesome Feather, who took her unbeaten run for owner-breeders Jacks Or Better Farm to six races with victory in Friday's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies, will now race for Frank Stronach after selling to the Adena Springs owner for $2.3 million - the top price at the sale.

Fred Brei, of Jacks Or Better Farm, said he was happy with the price for the daughter of little-known Oklahomabased stallion Awesome Of Course - also bred by Jacks Or Better Farm - but revealed that the $2.3 million price tag was not far beyond the filly's reserve.

Stronach bred, owns and stands Awesome Of Course's sire Awesome Again.

Friday's Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint heroine Dubai Majesty also brought seven figures when selling to prominent Japanese breeder Katsumi Yoshida of Northern Farm for $1.1 million. Dubai Majesty, a five-yearold daughter of Essence Of Dubai, will be retired from racing and sent to Japan to enter the breeding shed.
