ySTANBUL (CyHAN)- Culture and Tourism Minister Ertuy-rul GE-nay presented to the media a ceramic mosaic of the mythic poet Orpheus, returned by the Dallas Museum of Art, at a ceremony in ystanbul on Saturday.

The Dallas Museum of Art returned the Orpheus Mosaic after learning that the piece was likely looted from an archaeological site in Turkey.

Edessa is the Hellenistic name given to E[currency]anlyurfa. The mosaic was taken abroad by smugglers in 1998 after its discovery by J.B. Segal in 1950 in E[currency]anlyurfa. (Cihan/Todays Zaman)
