Crimestoppers selects Telstra Europe for 'Most Wanted' site's service availability.
Telstra Europe, a wholly-owned subsidiary of telecomms company Telstra Corporation Limited (ASX:TLS), has been selected by Crimestoppers, an independent UK charity working to stop crime, to provide 100% service availability for its 'most wanted' website.
Crimestoppers launched its 'Crimestoppers Most Wanted' site at http://www.mostwanted-uk.org in November 2005, receiving almost 3m hits on its first day. It is the only site in the UK to be used by the police to launch national public appeals for information about those on their 'most wanted' list.
The website features CCTV footage and photographs to help the public identify wanted individuals, and visitors to the site can use the secure online form or telephone number to report anonymously.
A record 33,000 visitors visited the website within ten minutes of its launch, which resulted in the decision to select Telstra Europe to provide guaranteed 100% site availability and fail-safe business continuity.
Telstra Europe now houses servers of the charity at its dedicated facility in Docklands, London, providing a fail-over Internet link, 100% service availability, 'Tier 1' connectivity, 24/7 remote access account management and technical support.
