Cricket legend's power bid.

IMRAN Khan last night called on Scotland's Pakistani community to help him gain political power.

The cricket legend addressed more than 500 Asian Scots on a visit to Glasgow, which was aimed at boosting support for his party.

Khan promised to fight Talibanbacked terror attacks.

Referring to a spate of suicide bombings in his country over the past year, he said: "We must end this war in Afghanistan because, contrary to what political leaders in the UK and the US say, the war is not keeping the streets safe."

He added: "Scotland has a very powerful and respected Pakistani community that has a big influence in Pakistan elections."
