Cricket club is caught out by a bikini ad.

A VILLAGE cricket club is at the centre of a sexism row over a poster showing a woman in a bikini.

Slaithwaite Cricket Club created a series of adverts to urge drinkers on the village ale trail to drop in for a pint.

But one, with model Lara Bingle, ex-fiancee of Aussie cricket captain Michael Clarke, has caused anger.

Tory councillor Donna Bellamy said it was "inappropriate" for the area and vowed to get it removed. Resident Jean Margetts said: "It's old-fashioned sexism."

But Tim Garside, president of the club near Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, said posters with a bare-chested man had been created too.

He said: "I stand by them. It's just a flippant advertising campaign that attracts attention to the club."
